In the past few months,the entertainment industry lose a few good people-Farrah Fawcett,Micheal Jackson and right here at home,we lost one of the country's BEST directors,Yasmin Ahmad.
When I first heard about her death.I was like"So what?Just another so called famous person passed away only ma..."
But,when I soon read about her works on the papers,I knew I'm wrong,so wrong!

Remember those Petronas commercials we see on TV's for Merdeka Day and Hari Raya?Those commercials,which had always include 3 races in Malaysia,were INDEED Yasmin's pieces of work.There are always a touching scene in her work,nevertheless her commercials.It was just after her death when I finally realized those commercials are her work which touched every bits of my heart.Raju having lunch with Tun and her family after years of being apart in Yasmin's TV commercial titled From Madras

I watched one of the film,"Sepet"directed by our late Yasmin Ahamad yesterday,Trust me,that was the BEST Malaysian movie I had ever seen!Even tough it left me hanging at the end of the movie, that may be because I'm too young to understand what happened to the main character in the end,but that easy understanding piece of work do bring out a lot of messages.It's a must watch movie!!!

I know what you're thinking right now,there's no big deal about nest and birds on bamboo trees.But look carefully,It's the bamboo tree at my house.Think about it,Why don't they build their nest somewhere else,but at housing area?That is because there are no trees left for them to build their nests d.Nd this is what happen when logging continues,and Logging too has made its mark in the degradation of nature. ( I bet you already know the effects, guys. So needless for me to say anymore!) Malaysia is forced to become a dumping site to the millions of tons of rubbish thrown every week due to her sharp increase in the population. This has become a major headache to everyone in the country.

Rivers flowing with rubbish in it,That's what we see these days

As Malaysia is fast becoming an industrial country, many of her rivers have become polluted due to the many wastes that have been poured out into her rivers. Such as the paper making industry, it requires chemicals, often poisonous in its production. The rivers are used as an outlet for the chemicals to drain away, in turn harming the waters and the lives that revolve around them.

There are many ethnic aboriginal groups that still exist in Malaysia and the people depend on the rivers and streams to survive. They depend on the river for food, water supply for drinking, bathing and for their crops. the river happens to be the main center of their livelihood and without the rivers the whole tribes cannot survive as their ancestors had done generations before them, all of them depending on the rivers.

The rivers have become a tourist attraction and this has prompted the construction of hotels and resorts around the area. As a result, many of the forests surrounding the river areas have been chopped down. The surrounding soil have no roots to hold on to and soon erode when the rains come. The soil runs into the rivers and soon the rivers become murky and shut out all the sunlight from reaching the aquatic life in the rivers and streams. This causes them to die.

A good example is the construction of a new golf course near the waterfall at tourist attraction Fraser’s Hill in the state of Pahang, causing it to become extremely murky and dirty due to the silt and sand that comes from the construction. The waterfall which has been the centrepoint of the hill has now lost all its attraction just because of the overwhelming need to attract more tourists to the place by building more facilities.

I even found a kid-cockroach crawling over my table when eating in a cafe this Thursday,this is not cool at all
That made me wonder where did it come from,and how dirty the cafe is.

Komtar,known as the skyscrappers of Penang.Even in small cities like Georgetown is undergoing
major environmental pollutions,then you can already imagine what is happening in big cities like Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia has risen to the industrial age, not wanting to be left behind in the dark ages anymore, but at the cost of the environment. Many industrial zones have been approved by the government to be set up in mostly forestland and uninhabited areas. One very good example of the industrial zone is of Shah Alam in the state of Selangor. As a result, trees has been cut down to accommodate towards the building of large industrial factories.

Building skyscrapers like Komtar and KLCC,maybe a pride to our country,may help to attract tourists,but can they attract people to travel to our country when our country is so polluted and I can see no one in the government doing their job to protect the environment first before cutting on more trees for more lands for industrial use.

If not,skyscrapers are just sky-crappers!
